For Parents / Carers

About us.

We are a group of local parents passionate about creating a safe, fun, and energetic space for our local young people.
Our goal is simple: to give our youth a place to hang out, connect, and build lasting friendships right here in the village.

Join the team!

A successful youth club needs a strong community behind it. By volunteering your time, you're directly helping us provide a safe, fun, and supportive space for our kids to grow.

Upcoming Taster Session

Join us for a fun-filled community evening at the Richmond Memorial Hall!

We are excited to invite young people, parents, and carers along to our first Family Fun Evening on Monday, 7th September.

While our team continues to finalize our volunteer training and safeguarding procedures behind the scenes, we’re opening the doors so that families can get a hands-on preview of the activities, equipment, and spaces we are creating for the Tomintoul & Glenlivet Youth Club.

Event Details

  • Date: Monday, 7th September 2026
  • Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Location: Richmond Memorial Hall, Tomintoul
  • Admission: £2 per person
  • Payment: We accept both cash and contactless/card payments at the door.

What’s on Offer?

We’ll have a wide variety of interactive zones and activities set up throughout the hall:

  • Table Sports: Table tennis, pool, and foosball.
  • Indoor Sports: 5-a-side football, dodgeball – we’re open to suggestions!
  • Creative & Building Station: LEGO sets and crafting space.
  • Games Lounge: A selection of board games and card games.
  • Music & Chill-Out Area: A relaxed space to hang out, chat, and listen to tunes.
  • Tuck Shop & Refreshments: Drinks and snacks will be available during the evening.

Important Information for Families

  • Supervision Requirement: Because we are still in the process of completing all leader PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) checks through Disclosure Scotland, all children and young people must be accompanied by an adult or guardian throughout this taster session.
  • Have Your Say: We want the youth club to be shaped by the young people who use it. There will be space during the evening to tell us what activities, games, and events you’d like to see at future club nights.

Get Involved

A thriving youth club is built by the community! If you are interested in helping out—whether as a session volunteer, running an activity, or supporting us behind the scenes—please come speak with one of our trustees during the evening or get in touch via info@tomintoulandglenlivetyouthclub.org.uk.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family on the 7th!

It’s official – we’re a charity

We’re absolutely delighted to share some important news: Tomintoul and Glenlivet Youth Club is now an officially registered Scottish charity! 🎉

This is a really significant step forward for us. Being a registered charity means we’re regulated by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), which gives the public, funders, and the families we support confidence that we meet high standards of governance and transparency. It’s official recognition that everything we do is focused on delivering clear community benefit.

But what does this actually mean in practice? Becoming a charity opens up new funding opportunities that simply weren’t available to us before – many grant-making bodies will only work with registered charities. We’ll also be eligible for valuable tax reliefs and can register for Gift Aid, which means we can claim an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 donated. That’s a huge boost for a community-run club like ours.

Most importantly, it gives us a strong, sustainable foundation for the future. We now have the structure we need to safeguard the youth club for years to come, support our amazing volunteers, and ensure every decision we make is in the best interests of our young people.
